What is Aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the controlled use of essential oils to support, maintain and improve physical and emotional well-being. Students will learn about the external application of essential oils including massage, inhalations, compresses, facial treatments and the manufacturing of aromatherapy products.

What will you learn?

The diploma subjects include in-depth health science and study of essential oils incorporated into a effective treatment. An important component includes the manufacture of creams, lotions, facial scrubs and soaps.

Clinical practice

The Clinical Studies component is designed to provide the student with the opportunity to practice with clients from the general public and integrate their learning under supervision and ongoing assessment by qualified supervisors and experienced therapists.

First aid

Students must obtain a current Senior First Aid Certificate prior to graduation.

Time to complete

A full-time student can complete the diploma in 8 months. Part-time students will take significantly longer to complete the award.

Pathways to Higher Education

Graduates of the Diploma of Aromatherapy may articulate in Degree Bridging Programmes offered by a number of Australian Universities.
