Our Facilities

SAHEC's modern and well-appointed centre is located conveniently at 88 Currie Street in the heart of Adelaide. We are close to public transport, shops and other facilities.

Student facilities

SAHEC students have free access to a reference library. Manuals and selected textbooks are provided to students at the beginning of each module. Students are provided with a lunchroom and kitchen, equipped with a refrigerator, microwave and coffee and tea facilities.

Student massage clinic

SAHEC has a professionally managed student clinic where students practise massage skills on real clients under the supervision of experienced massage therapists. The clinic, which is open to the general public, provides a friendly, comfortable and safe learning environment for students. Throughout the clinic practicum students are assessed against the essential competencies required for successful completion of the National Health Training Package Qualification.

At the clinic, you will work with clients from diverse walks of life and backgrounds, with different needs and health issues. This rich clinical experience will prepare you well for your future as a massage therapist. At the completion of your clinical practice, you will be competent and confident to enter the professional massage industry.

The general public can access the clinic's services at low rates. The clinic's treatments are also available to SAHEC students for a small fee.

Student naturopathy clinic

The well-equipped, fully supervised student clinic is open to the public. Like its massage counterpart, the naturopathy clinic gives students the opportunity to work with real clients with real problems. The clinic offers a full dispensary - a claim that can be made by very few Australian natural health training colleges.

Treatments offered by the clinic include

  • Western herbal medicine
  • Nutrition (including food and nutritional supplements)
  • Lifestyle advice
  • Flower remedies
  • Homeopathy
  • Referral to other practitioners when appropriate

Clinic Practice is an essential part of naturopathy, nutrition and herbal medicine courses. Throughout the clinical studies modules, students are assessed in this ability to demonstrate the National Health Training package competencies for the qualification.
