Aromatherapy 1
This module presents the basic theoretical components, practical knowledge, and skills of aromatherapy necessary for the clinical application of essential oils in massage. Students learn about the history and benefits of aromatherapy, and the therapeutic properties of selected oils. They also learn how to perform an aromatherapy health assessment, prepare an aromatherapy treatment plan to suit a client's individual requirements, and perform a full aromatherapy massage.
Bowen Therapy 1
This module introduces students to the history, principles and application of Bowen Therapy. In a safe and supporting learning environment students will learn the skills and knowledge to perform a Bowen Therapy treatment. This module introduces the student to a bodywork technique that can be integrated with other techniques. Bowen Therapy may be performed on clients who are fully clothed or undraped. Bowen Therapy assists in the elimination of muscular dysfunction and skeletal misalignment
Flower Essences 1
This module provides students with an introduction to flower essence therapy and its application to clinical practice. The focus of the module is on the Bach Flower Remedies and students are provided with a basic understanding of how the remedies were developed, how they are produced, and how they may exert their effects. The therapeutic properties of the 39 remedies are presented and differentiated according to their indications for use.
Foot Reflexology
This course provides an introduction to the principles and application of Foot Reflexology. In a safe and supportive learning environment students gain the skills and knowledge to perform a Foot Reflexology treatment. This module will present students with knowledge of the three main theories of Foot Reflexology, and the location of reflex points relating to specific areas of the body. An illustrated overview of the skeletal structure relevant to the foot is provided.
Foundations of Masssage
This module introduces students to the principles and application of massage therapy practice. In a safe and supportive learning environment students gain the skills and knowledge to perform a full body massage. Basic anatomical terms are introduced and an overview of the skeletal and the muscular systems of relevance to relaxation massage is provided. Foundations of Massage is the foundation for all other massage practical modalities and provides a basis for further levels of professional massage training in the natural health industry.
Polarity Therapy 1
Polarity therapy is a holistic treatment which uses non-invasive, gentle touch to bring about a range of health benefits. Polarity Therapy clears and balances the human energy field to revitalise energy, repair injury, prevent illness and build health. Polarity Therapy works on the whole body. It has been described as the art and science of balancing the subtle natural human energy fields and currents which create and maintain our physical, mental emotional and spiritual selves.
Principles of Naturopathic Practice
This module introduces students to the basic philosophy and principles of naturopathy and their application to contemporary naturopathic clinical practice. It explores the history of healing and medicine from prehistory to present times and provides an appreciation of common principles of healing from different cultures and periods of history. Students are also introduced to the concept of critical evaluation of information and the importance of evidence-based practice. Various areas and modalities of healing are introduced and critically evaluated so that students gain an appreciation of the benefits of client referral to other health professionals. This module provides a foundation upon which other modules will build and expand.
Traditional Thai Massage
TTM is a therapy which provides flexibility, relaxation and energy balance. The therapy is a combination of yoga-style stretching and compression techniques on a meridian system that incorporated acupressure points. It is a clothed massage that takes place on a mat on the floor.
An Mo Tui Na – Traditional Chinese Massage
This modality focuses on applying pressure to the meridians to affect the flow of Chi (energy) which has a profound effect on emotional, intellectual, spiritual and physical well being. Students will be introduced to the techniques which will address a wide variety of physical dysfunctions and emotional imbalances.
