Student Welfare and Guidance

SAHEC's student counsellors are on hand to provide help and advice throughout your study. We are committed to looking after your welfare and provide guidance in a range of areas including looking after your wellbeing in the work environment (Occupational Health and Safety), timetable preparation, reviewing your payment schedules if requested, advice on learning pathways and special learning and cultural needs.

We will help you in the development of your career by providing the best advice on modules and courses. We also have affiliations with a range of community groups which can provide our students with practical experience, including workforce entry advice.

SAHEC has a strong approach to accountability. We have a Code of Practice which is designed to ensure that all students are treated fairly and with consideration, in a safe and healthy study environment where learning, respect and open communication are fostered, free from discrimination and harassment. If any student feels we are not abiding by the Code of Practice, complaints can be reported to the course counsellor by other avenues which are set out in the SAHEC Appeals, Complaints and Grievance Procedure.
